IEMA Approved Training Courses

The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) is a not-for-profit membership organisation established to promote best practice standards in environmental management, auditing and assessment.

With membership approaching 15,000 individual and corporate members based in 87 countries, IEMA is now a leading international membership-based organisation dedicated to the promotion of sustainable development.

Our most notable IEMA approved course is the Level 3 Certificate for the Environmental Practitioner leading to Associate Membership of IEMA. As its title suggests, this course leads to Associate Membership to IEMA. The course is assessed via building a portfolio of work, which can be a useful alternative to sitting exams in order to gain Associate Membership.

Our Level 2 Environmental Awareness Award for Business & Industry Online Course is another course approved by IEMA. This course is recognised by IEMA as a Continual Personal Development (CPD) course. IEMA stated that this course was ideal for raising environmental awareness for any non-specialist individual*. This course was praised for its attractive presentation, straight forward language, coverage of environmental science, external links and on-screen activities. This course is also available as a construction version.

*Please note it is not considered CPD for anyone who holds a high level environmental qualification (e.g. degree or has passed an IEMA approved foundation course).

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

CPD is an essential way to keep up-to-date with the latest issues and developments in the environmental arena, giving you a competitive edge over other practitioners and enhancing your confidence and competence.

CPD usually takes the form of training courses and workshops but can sometimes mean individual study and research. Professional bodies like IEMA ask members with professionally recognised levels of experience to keep a record of their CPD to maintain their status and keep high standards of competence throughout the industry. CPD workshops are a great way of keep abreast of best-practice, fast-moving legislation changes and new procedures in an educational and inclusive environment.
